Importance of Physical Fitness — SSB Lecturette Speech Outline

SSB Lecturette practice illustration — candidate delivering a 3-minute speech at a lectern on the GTO ground to a semicircle of fellow candidates.

The easiest chit — if you go beyond “PT is good”. Use this outline under a 3-minute prep clock, then speak without reading.

Category: abstract · Format: 3 min prep + 3 min speech

Opening hook (~40 seconds)

On the GTO ground, fitness is not a six-pack photo — it is still having a voice in the tenth minute of the Snake Race.

Body — three points (~90 seconds)

  1. Health: heart, sleep, injury prevention. Aspirants who only “cram PT” a month before SSB get injured.
  2. Mind: running clears WAT fog. Stamina is an OLQ because tired people make selfish decisions.
  3. Nation: a fitter youth is a cheaper health system and a deeper recruiting pool.

Closing line (~50 seconds)

Train so that Day 4 is still your Day 1 energy.

What to avoid

Give a weekly habit, not gym-bro advice. Link to Individual Obstacles if you like.

Practise with the hub timer and the Lecturette GTO guide (3-3-3 structure, body language, chit selection).
