Security of the Indian Ocean Region — SSB Lecturette Speech Outline

SLOCs, islands and a navy that is not only coastal. Use this outline under a 3-minute prep clock, then speak without reading.
Opening hook (~40 seconds)
Oil, containers and data cables — the Indian Ocean is a conveyor belt. Pirates and rival navies both know it.
Body — three points (~90 seconds)
- India’s growth assumes safe sea lines. A blocked strait is an inflation crisis at home.
- Presence: patrols, information fusion, and partners who share a picture of the sea.
- Islands and coastal police are part of the same story as aircraft carriers.
Closing line (~50 seconds)
If the ocean is India’s front yard, we should know who is walking across it.
What to avoid
Good Navy PI crossover. Keep geography honest.
Practise with the hub timer and the Lecturette GTO guide (3-3-3 structure, body language, chit selection).
