Unity in Diversity — SSB Lecturette Speech Outline

SSB Lecturette practice illustration — candidate delivering a 3-minute speech at a lectern on the GTO ground to a semicircle of fellow candidates.

Oldest school topic — make it 2026, not Class 6. Use this outline under a 3-minute prep clock, then speak without reading.

Category: india · Format: 3 min prep + 3 min speech

Opening hook (~40 seconds)

India is the only place where a train announcement can switch languages three times and nobody finds it strange.

Body — three points (~90 seconds)

  1. Diversity is languages, food, faith and law — federalism is how we keep the argument civil.
  2. Unity is the Constitution, one flag, and the soldier from any state on a common border.
  3. Threats are stereotype and rumour. Your generation’s job is curiosity, not forced sameness.

Closing line (~50 seconds)

We do not need one culture. We need one compact: dignity for every row in the census.

What to avoid

Avoid tourist-brochure lists of festivals. One lived example is better.

Practise with the hub timer and the Lecturette GTO guide (3-3-3 structure, body language, chit selection).
